Italy

We will come again
but we must leave now
the ugly and dead, they call our names

Italian nights
it rained gold and silver
we were gods
made of air and light

days of grace
blue skies forever
almost forgave us our average lives

car ride in the dark
are we carried in triumph
ardent admirers line the streets

we bathed in the sunlight
and dreamt of burning flesh
and dying worlds
we drank cheap champagne
their cries made us dance

we dozed on our air beds
and strolled through ashen fields
and moss-grown ruins
we sank on our knees
their remains made us smile

we will come again
but we must wait now
the ugly and dead, they feed on our lives

no ballroom days
we trade our bodies
we are beds for old, old men

nothing keeps them away
our wounds are holy
will you ever end our pain

oh long night of knives,
we are so tired, it is time.
oh long night of knives,
they all have to pay

oh long night of knives,
we are so tired , it is time.
oh long night of knives,
they all have to pay
